Are these candelabra wired for electricity?

Many pieces retain their original configuration for wax candles, while others have received later conversions to electrical wiring. You should examine the specific listing details to confirm the current wiring status. Converting a candelabra to a table lamp or wall light is common practice, though unadapted pieces preserve their original form for decorative display.

How do I clean brass and ormolu?

Gentle dusting with a soft, dry cloth is usually sufficient to maintain the surface without disturbing the patina or gilt layers. Avoid using abrasive metal polishes that can strip away thin layers of gilding. For more stubborn grime, a damp cloth with mild soap can be applied sparingly, followed by immediate drying. Professional conservation is recommended for fragile gilt bronze or silvered surfaces.

Where should I place a two branch light?

A pair of wall sconces works well flanking a mirror, fireplace, or doorway to create balanced illumination. Freestanding table candelabra look effective on sideboards, mantels, or dining tables. Ensure the scale of the piece matches the furniture beneath it so the dual arms do not overwhelm the surrounding space.

How do I identify French Rococo Revival pieces?

French Rococo Revival items feature asymmetrical scrollwork, naturalistic leaf motifs, and often incorporate cherubs or floral garlands. The cast bronze or brasswork exhibits fluid, organic curves typical of mid-nineteenth-century design. Comparing the casting quality and decorative vocabulary helps distinguish these works from later, more rigid revivals.
