Description

An oak side table with moulded frieze and original carved and punch-work decorated spandrels. The base is formed by four gun-barrel turned legs, terminating in original block feet, first half of the 17th century. Evidence of old worm activity which has long since ceased. The side stretchers are a Victorian addition will have contributed to the survival of the early piece of vernacular oak furniture. Super waxed patina. Purchased from a local deceased estate.
