Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King George II from 1727 to 1760, this period in English furniture design favoured dense West Indian mahogany, curved cabriole legs, pad feet, and functional proportions prior to the more elaborate Rococo flourishes.

Mid-18th-century English side tables were primarily constructed from solid mahogany timber, combined with hand-cut oak or pine secondary woods for drawer linings, cast brass handles, and iron fittings.

Authentic pieces feature hand-sawn wood marks, hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, heavy dense timber with original patination, period-correct cast brass hardware, and pad or claw-and-ball feet carved directly from the leg timber.

Position the table in an entryway or alcove paired with contemporary artwork, a modern table lamp, or framed photography to create a balanced dialogue between historic craftsmanship and modern interior aesthetics.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the surface patination, keeping the item away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent timber shrinkage.
