We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A drop dial fusee clock is a 19th-century British pendulum wall clock featuring a lower trunk extending below the dial to house the pendulum swing. Powered by a fusee movement, which uses a spiralled cone and chain to equalise spring tension, these clocks maintain consistent timekeeping accuracy.

Victorian drop dial clocks are crafted with timber cases, often featuring solid mahogany or walnut accented with flame veneers and carved side ears. The dial face is constructed from painted sheet iron or enamel set within a cast brass bezel and glass panel.

An authentic fusee clock is identified by its mechanical movement containing a cone-shaped fusee brass barrel connected via a steel chain or gut line. Additional indicators include hand-painted Roman numeral dials, heavy cast brass bezels, and timber cases secured with wooden pegs.

A drop dial wall clock acts as a focal point when positioned on a narrow wall space, above a sideboard, or within a home study. The contrast of dark timber against light neutral walls highlights the geometric silhouette and brass details.

A mechanical clock must be mounted securely on a level wall surface away from direct heat sources and moisture. Winding the movement regularly with the correct key and scheduling mechanical servicing every five to seven years preserves operation.
