Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco watch design from the 1920s is defined by geometric shapes, clean symmetrical lines, and decorative surface engraving. Timepieces from this era frequently integrated fine jewellery aesthetics with functional mechanics, utilizing materials like white gold and platinum.

Ladies wristwatches of the 1920s commonly featured cases made from 14k or 18k white gold, yellow gold, or platinum, often decorated with hand engraving or filigree. Straps were typically constructed from cord, ribbon, or fine leather, accompanying mechanical hand-wound movements.

Authentic pieces generally display manufacturer stamps or hallmarks on the interior or exterior of the case back indicating metal purity and maker marks. Distinctive period features include hand-wound mechanical movements, geometric dials, blued steel hands, and period-appropriate Arabic or Roman numerals.

An Art Deco wristwatch functions as a refined accessory suited for both formal evening wear and structured daytime tailoring. Its slim profile and subtle metalwork allow it to be worn independently or paired alongside minimalist contemporary jewellery.

Vintage mechanical wristwatches require periodic servicing by a qualified horologist to clean, lubricate, and adjust the movement. To preserve the casing and internal components, avoid exposure to moisture, magnetic fields, and excessive force when hand-winding.
