The Case

The case is in beautiful mahogany and stands 18” high x 12” wide with a depth of 7” it is in very good original condition very shiny has had a lot of wax over the years very well looked after, with a thick convex glass front door and glass side panels.

The clock stands on brass ball feet.

The Dial

The dial is in good original condition painted white steel with Roman numerals which is 8” wide and still retains the fine spade hands signed by the maker Osborn of Bognor.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A double fusee bracket clock is a traditional British timepiece utilising a cone-shaped pulley system powered by two spring barrels, allowing the movement to maintain constant torque while operating timekeeping and striking mechanisms.

These clocks are commonly constructed with solid wood or veneered timber casessuch as mahogany, walnut, or rosewoodaccented with brass bezels, glass crystal face covers, and steel or brass internal horological components.

Authentic period examples feature a characteristic chain or gut line wound around a grooved conical pulley, cast brass dial bezels, hand-cut gear trains, and maker signatures painted or engraved on the dial plate.

Position the clock as a focal anchor on a formal sideboard, fireplace mantelpiece, or deep bookshelf, balancing its rich timber tones alongside minimalist artwork or brass decorative objects.

Keep the clock positioned away from direct sunlight and fluctuating heat sources, dust the wooden case gently with a dry microfiber cloth, and have the mechanical movement serviced by a professional horologist every five to seven years.
