Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III bow-fronted corner cabinet is a wall-mounted storage unit dating from the reign of King George III (17601820), characterized by a convex curved front designed to fit neatly into ninety-degree room corners.

These cabinets were predominantly crafted using mahogany or oak secondary timbers, featuring flame mahogany veneers, boxwood or satinwood stringing inlays, and solid brass H-hinges or escutcheons.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-sawn backboards (often pine or oak), hand-cut dovetail joints on internal drawers, original brass H-hinges with age-appropriate oxidisation, and natural shrinkage lines in the timber veneer.

Mount the cabinet at eye level in an underutilised dining room, hallway, or study corner to add architectural depth, using the interior shelves to display porcelain or glassware.

Maintain the cabinet by dusting regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish annually. Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent veneer lifting.
