Heriz carpets originate from the Heris region of Northwest Iran, near Mount Sabalan. Woven predominantly by village craftspeople, these carpets became prominent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, famed for their bold geometric interpretations of traditional central Persian floral patterns.
