Holmes Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Kneehole Desk to the 18th Century.
The bead is continued around the edge of the kneehole, to the base the feet are original and the base mould is carved to run smoothly around the corner towards the door. The veneers have been carefully chosen and the grain runs vertically rather than horizontally as is the norm at this period. There is a working key for the top drawer and door.
The original drawer linings are wonderfully clean and made in oak.
