M Lees and Sons has dated this William IV Mahogany Buffet to the 19th Century.
The doors enclosing a fitted interior comprising a bank of 3 shallow drawers and a deep cellarette or wine storage drawer , all fitted with high-quality recessed brass handles .

The ‘stile’ end uprights fitted with raised moulded lancet-shaped panels , the top with a classically-inspired carved anthemion and leaf-scroll upstand to the rear ,with a rectangular tablet to the centre. The whole raised on original turned mahogany squat feet

Unusually the rounded bow-ends are each of different radius and curve , the asymmetric design probably being a bespoke feature when commissioned.
High quality construction and build quality throughout, well-chosen grade of figured mahogany which has achieved a wonderful rich colour and patina. In excellent original condition with only minor historic marks and stains to the top .
A decorative and boldly-designed side cabinet providing useful storage and a serving facility.
