Bisque porcelain, or biscuit porcelain, refers to unglazed pottery fired once to achieve a matte finish resembling marble. Popularised in Continental Europe during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, manufacturers used this medium to create detailed pastoral, mythological, and musical figure groups for interior display.
