Abacus Antiques has dated this William IV Mahogany Davenport to the 19th Century.
The davenport sits on four turned feet with castors.The davenport is fitted with a writing slope with a good quality leather writing surface. The interior has an open storage space with two small drawers to the inside rear.
There are four drawers on the right hand side and four dummy drawers on the left hand side with pull out slides at each side above the drawers.
The top section slides forward to give extra kneehole legroom and there is a lovely turned back and side gallery to the top surface.
The writing slope and drawers are fitted with locks (key is supplied).
The davenport has an overall height of 35.5" (90cm), a width of 19.5" (50cm) and a depth of 25" (64cm).
This lovely antique davenport remains in a good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The top surface has some minor marks and there is some wear to the feet.
This remains a very stylish and elegant davenport. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
