Description

A charming 19th century bronze group of man, women and child after Clodion. Romantically standing together mostly naked but with a shawl draped around the male and the female entwined to his body while he has his arm around her . The women is holding the hand of a child , and carrying grapes in a tambourine on her head . The child also carrying grapes over his back . The man is carrying a wine ewer. Beautifully modelled. Signed Clodion to the base .

Claude Michel, known as Clodion was a French sculptor in the Rocco style noted for his lively charms of his figures . Died 1814 in paris
