Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A repousse silver mug is a metallic drinking vessel decorated with raised relief designs created by hammering the metal from the reverse side. Popular during the 18th and 19th centuries, these pieces often depict mythological scenes, cherubs, or floral motifs.

Antique silver mugs were typically crafted from sterling silver, which consists of 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for structural durability. Some regional examples utilised Continental silver alloys or were finished with a gilded interior to protect against liquid corrosion.

Authenticity is verified through official hallmark stampings, which denote the maker, silver purity standard, assay office location, and date letter. Additionally, genuine hand-chased or repousse work shows characteristic variations and subtle tool marks on the interior surface.

An antique silver mug can be displayed as a standalone decorative accent on a sideboard, styled as a pencil cup on an executive desk, or repurposed as a vessel for small floral arrangements on a bookshelf.

Preserve the silver surface by polishing gently with a soft microfibre cloth and a specialised, non-abrasive silver cream when tarnish appears. Avoid dishwashers and harsh chemical cleaners, and store the item in a dry environment to prevent rapid oxidisation.
