Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco perfume bottles, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, are characterised by bold geometric shapes, clean vertical lines, and contrasting colours. Makers often used techniques such as cut-to-clear casing, frosted panels, and enamelling to create striking architectural forms.

Glassmakers used heavy lead crystal or optical glass, often combined with coloured glass overlay or flashed enamel. Stoppers were precisely ground by hand to create an airtight seal without the need for rubber or metal fitments.

Authentic pieces usually feature hand-ground glass stoppers with matching numbers etched on both the stopper stem and bottle neck interior. Look for crisp, hand-cut geometric facets, significant base weight, and a lack of modern machine mould seams.

Place the bottle on a mirrored vanity tray, a marble bathroom counter, or a bedside table to highlight its geometric silhouette. Grouping glass bottles of varying heights creates a refined, light-reflecting vignette.

Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild liquid detergent, avoiding hot water which can cause thermal shock. Ensure the ground glass stopper area remains free from residue, and dry thoroughly with a soft microfibre cloth.
