Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian nests of tables are sets of three or four graduated occasional tables designed to slide neatly underneath one another. During the late nineteenth century, these sets frequently incorporated Jacobean Revival motifs, such as turned barley twist legs, dark stained timber finishes, and molded square or rectangular tops.

These tables were typically crafted from solid hard woods such as oak, mahogany, or walnut. Construction methods involved traditional joinery techniques including mortise and tenon joints, hand-carved spiral turnings, and solid timber stretchers along the base to maintain structural stability.

Authentic period pieces show signs of age consistent with their use, such as uneven wear on lower stretchers and natural oxidisation in dark wood grain. Original construction includes hand-turned spiral leg profiles that may exhibit slight variations, as well as period-appropriate underside joinery rather than modern screws or adhesives.

A set of nested tables can be placed beside a sofa or armchair as compact occasional surfaces. They can be stored together to minimize footprint or separated across a room during entertaining to support lamps, books, or drinks.

Maintain timber by regularly dusting with a soft, lint-free cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish along the wood grain once or twice a year. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and high humidity to prevent timber movement, cracking, or finish deterioration.
