Grand Tour bronzes are 19th-century scale replicas of ancient classical Greek and Roman statues. They were produced primarily in Italian foundries, such as those in Naples and Rome, as souvenir items for wealthy European aristocracy travelling on educational tours across the continent.

These figures were cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax (cire perdue) process or sand casting methods. They were typically finished with dark brown, black, or chemically treated patinas designed to mimic the aged surface of freshly excavated ancient bronzes.

Authentic period castings display crisp chasing details, substantial weight, and seamless joints. Many examples from prominent Neapolitan foundries feature impressed maker marks, signatures, or location stamps such as Napoli along the base.
