A magnificent copy of the 19th Century Classical bronze of a nude Narcissus by M. Amadeo Napoli. He has a ram's fleece over his arm and is standing on a square base.

According to Greek mythology, Narcissus is shown looking at a reflection of himself, and consequently fell in love with his own reflection. This figure was highly popular in many stately homes in the 19th Century, and remains popular today.

The bronze Narcissus is based on an ancient Roman statuette discovered in Pompeii in 1862, which became one of the most widely reproduced models by Italian foundries during the Grand Tour period of the late nineteenth century.
