The desk transports in 3 pieces, the top section having 1 long and 2 short drawers. The 2 pedestals with a further 3 graduated drawers all with Macassar ebony applied mouldings and sunken brass military handles. The reverse having 2 useful cupboards with panelled doors and shelved interiors. The whole standing on plinth bases with further ebony mouldings. Working locks with keys throughout and verso label “ Major Whitmore. ??.??.91” and “Curtiss & Sons, Royal Pantechnicon, Portsmouth. Dimensions:- Height…31’’/ 78.5cm. Width…50’’/ 127cm.
