Description

A super Victorian extending dining table in figured Cuban mahogany and with three additional leaves. Dating to c.1870 this classic is of the rarer oval ended shape with a moulded edge and stands on four turned and faceted tapering legs with brass caps and brown pottery castors. A screw expander winding mechanism smoothly extends the table from 5.5ft to 9ft 8.75in allowing it to seat up to 10 people or 12 at a squeeze. Recently repolished using traditional methods and with some old restorations including to the runner stretcher (so not visible).

Extended Length - 9ft 8.75in / 116.75in (296.5cm)

Closed Length - 66.25in (168.5cm)

Width - 53.5in (136cm)

Height - 29in (73.5cm)

Leaves - 18in, 15.5in and 17.25in (46cm, 39.5cm and 44cm)

Legroom - 24.5in (62cm) under end frieze and 28.4in (72cm) under inserted leaves

If extra legroom is required a set of wooden cup raisers can be made.

If you are not sure please do not buy without clarifying or take the view that the only way to have it as near to new as possible is to have it fully and comprehensively restored.

For delivery we use a small carrier experience in carrying antique furniture. Delivery is usually within 31 days and the carrier will make arrangements with you directly. We can provide contact details of other carriers if required.
