Size: 11ft 8in x 7ft 10in (355 x 240cm).

Old Red Afghan carpet with traditional design, this carpet has superb colour with a very good deep rich red and a deep indigo blue. The carpet retains the original flat woven kilim end finishes at both ends.

Circa 1920.

The carpet is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile, the wool is really superb and very glossy.

The carpet has been hand washed and ready for use or display.

The carpet is suitable for heavy domestic floor use.

Ersari carpets are traditional hand-woven textiles produced by the Ersari sub-tribe in Central Asia and Afghanistan. They are renowned for their rich red or liver-coloured fields decorated with repeating octagonal geometric motifs known as guls.
