Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this Burr Walnut Pedestal Desk to the 1890s.
Below are three frieze drawers, with a further three graduated drawers to each pedestal, providing a total of nine drawers.

The drawer fronts are beautifully figured in burr walnut and retain turned wooden handles and individual keyholes. The desk is constructed principally in oak, providing an attractive contrast with the richly figured burr walnut veneers.

Of traditional three-part construction, the top separates from the two pedestals, making the desk considerably easier to transport and position.
Of particular interest is the original brass lock plates stamped “Hobbs & Co., London – Lever – Machine Made”. Hobbs & Co. were highly regarded London lockmakers and suppliers of locks for quality cabinet furniture during the Victorian period.
