Antique Regency Dining Chairs C1820

An elegant pair of antique Regency dining chairs dating from the early nineteenth century, circa 1820–1840. Crafted from solid mahogany, these chairs feature beautifully shaped sabre back legs, turned front legs and a striking scroll-carved crest rail inspired by classical Greek and Roman design.

The sweeping lines and refined proportions are characteristic of the Regency period, while the rich mahogany grain and deep green velvet upholstery give the chairs a timeless and sophisticated appearance. The carved scroll details on the top rail are particularly impressive and reflect the craftsmanship of the period.

Both chairs are sturdy and comfortable, making them suitable for everyday use as dining chairs, hallway seating or elegant accent pieces in a traditional or contemporary interior.

The green velvet seats remain in very good condition, complementing the warm tones of the mahogany frame beautifully.
