Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Georgian silver salver is a flat, raised tray or server typically crafted from sterling silver during the reign of Kings George I through George IV between 1714 and 1830. Historically used to present documents, letters, or refreshments to guests, salvers featured intricate hand engraving, cast borders, and low feet.

Antique salvers were constructed from high-grade sterling silver using hand-hammering, raising, and chasing techniques. Borders and feet were cast separately and soldered onto the central tray, which was subsequently decorated with hand-engraved cartouches and shell motifs.

Authentic Georgian silver pieces carry complete sets of British hallmarks, including the makers mark, town mark such as Sheffield or London, purity mark, date letter, and the monarch duty mark. Examining the crispness of the stamping and observing natural signs of historical wear helps verify authenticity.

An antique silver salver can be displayed on a sideboard, drinks cart, or coffee table as a decorative tray for decanters, glassware, or candles. Its metallic finish introduces texture and light reflection to modern and traditional interior settings.

Preserve silver by polishing gently with a soft microfibre cloth and a specialised non-abrasive silver cream when tarnish occurs. Wash occasionally in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth to prevent water spots and oxidisation.
