Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III silver salver is a flat tray supported on short feet, produced in Britain during the reign of King George III (17601820). Traditionally used for presenting letters, visiting cards, or beverages, these pieces represent 18th-century British metalwork.

Georgian salvers were wrought from solid sterling silver using hand-hammering, casting, and chasing techniques. They frequently feature cast or raised borders, such as gadrooning, and are raised on solder-attached cast feet.

Authenticity is confirmed by examining the hallmark sequence stamped on the surface, which includes the makers mark, town mark, sterling mark, and date letter. Period-appropriate hand engraving and subtle surface variations from hand-crafting also indicate age.

An antique silver salver can be positioned on a sideboard, console table, or coffee table to organize glassware or display decorative items. The reflective silver finish offers tonal contrast against wood or stone surfaces.

Silver salvers should be polished with a gentle silver cream and soft cloth to remove tarnish without eroding hallmarking or engraving. Regular dusting and occasional washing in warm water followed by immediate drying will maintain its lustre.
