Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An old mine cut diamond ring from this era typically features a hand-faceted stone with a slightly squarish cushion shape, a high crown, a small table, and a deep pavilion. During the 1920s, these cuts were often set in transition-era mountings combining yellow gold shanks with platinum settings.

Jewellers during the 1920s predominantly utilized yellow gold, white gold, and platinum. It was common practice to craft the band out of yellow gold while securing the diamond in a white metal head to emphasize the stones white tone.

Authentic pieces feature asymmetrical hand-cut facets, an open culet visible through the top of the stone, and characteristic period hallmarks on the interior band. The setting craftsmanship often exhibits delicate hand-finishing, such as claw prongs and decorative collar shoulders.

A vintage solitaire ring can be styled by pairing it with a simple contemporary metal band or mixed-metal stacking rings. The timeless geometry of an old cut stone allows it to complement both minimal modern attire and classic formal wear.

Clean the piece using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from behind the stone. Have a professional jeweller check the integrity of the setting claws annually to ensure the diamond remains securely held.
