Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Windsor armchair is characterized by a solid wooden seat into which the back spindles, arms, and legs are directly socketed using joinery techniques, rather than relying on continuous corner posts.

Regional makers frequently combined various native hardwoods, using figured elm for the thick contoured seat, steam-bent yew or ash for the hoop back and arms, and turned beech or yew for the legs and spindles.

Authentic 19th-century examples typically display hand-shaped seats with knife marks, wedged tenon joints visible through the seat or back rail, and natural wear patterns on the foot ends and armrests.

A Windsor chair functions as an accent piece alongside contemporary neutral upholstery, placed in a reading nook, positioned beside a fireplace, or set near a entry desk to add texture and historical character.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the wood grain, while keeping the piece away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage.
