Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Lincolnshire Windsor chair is a regional variation of English country seating characterised by a steam-bent hoop back, turned legs socketed directly into a solid seat, and a decorative pierced central splat unique to East Anglian makers.

English Windsor chairs were typically constructed using a combination of native timbers, including elm for the contoured seat due to its resistance to splitting, ash or yew for the steam-bent back hoops, and beech or oak for turned spindles and legs.

Authentic period Windsor chairs display evidence of hand-crafting, such as hand-whittled spindles, wedge-tenon joints visible through the top of the seat, uneven patination from historical handling, and natural wear to the stretchers where feet rested.

A single Windsor chair serves as an effective accent piece in an entryway, alongside a reading desk, or in a quiet bedroom corner. The warm timber tones contrast effectively with contemporary muted walls and crisp linen textiles.

Preserve the timber by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying a coat of high-quality beeswax paste once or twice a year. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent shrinking, loosening joints, or timber splitting.
