French Louis Xv Style Walnut Chest

1900 - 1920
Description

A very attractive French Louis XV style walnut bedside chest, having a shaped and moulded top above three useful drawers. Each drawer is decorated with elegant carved scrollwork and fitted with ornate brass drop handles.

The chest is raised on finely shaped cabriole legs with carved knees and scroll feet, united by a shaped apron with a central carved cartouche. The panelled sides and beautifully figured walnut give the piece a warm, rich colour throughout.
