Description

This is an antique morning room book cabinet. An English, walnut and burr walnut mirror front bookcase, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.

Dashing good looks and superb craftsmanship as expected of the Regency

Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout

Select walnut stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues

Burr walnut fascia adds further striking figuring to the delightful cabinetry

A pair of oval glazed doors host superb bevelled mirror plates

With an appealing brilliance, the gently foxed plates offer a fine reflection

Relief carved brackets add visual distinction surrounding each plate

Attractive brass mounts with gilt hues adorn the fascia

Dressed with an ormolu lock escutcheon upon the right hand door — in working order, key present

Left-hand door closes with a pair of internal brass sliding clasps
