Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Crafted during the late Qing dynasty, these stands typically feature dense, dark hardwoods such as zitan, hongmu, or rosewood. They were designed to hold bonsai, vases, or incense burners, and commonly incorporate detailed openwork aprons, cabriole legs, and inset marble panels.

These stands were constructed using traditional joinery without metal nails or glue, relying on precision mortise-and-tenon joints. Materials included indigenous dense hardwoods coupled with inset decorative stone, such as pink or grey variegated marble.

Authentic period pieces show evidence of hand-carving with subtle variations in deep reliefs, natural surface wear on the timber, and traditional joinery. Look for age-related contraction lines around the marble inset and oxidation on unfinished underside surfaces.

A carved Chinese stand acts as a sculptural pedestal in contemporary settings. Place it in an alcove, hallway, or living area to display modern ceramic art, trailing house plants, or striking floral arrangements.

Dust the detailed carvings regularly using a soft, dry brush to prevent dirt buildup in recessed areas. Clean the marble insert with a pH-neutral damp cloth, avoiding acid-based cleaners, and keep the wood away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage.
