Description

A beautifully carved Chinese hardwood stand with a circular pink variegated marble inset. The apron is richly worked with scrolling foliage and pierced floral motifs, all executed with crisp, confident carving. Four cabriole legs flow elegantly from the body, each terminating in claw-and-ball feet and united by a carved X stretcher. The rich dark hardwood contrasts beautifully with the softly veined marble, creating a decorative piece ideal for displaying a vase, sculpture or plant. Presented in excellent condition with only light, age-appropriate wear, it remains sturdy, well-balanced and full of character.
