Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These stands originated during the Qing Dynasty and gained popularity during the late 19th century as export wares to Europe. Designed traditionally to display bonsai, vases, or incense burners, they reflect traditional Chinese woodcarving techniques combined with durable stone insets.

They are typically constructed using dense hardwoods such as rosewood, zitan, or hongmu, paired with inset polished marble tops. The marble is often selected for decorative veining, with pink, grey, or white colour variations.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-carved joinery such as mortise and tenon joints, intricate pierced aprons, and natural variations in the wood density and stone figure. Modern reproductions frequently rely on machine carving and synthetic adhesives.

These stands serve as functional side tables, sculptural pedestals for house plants, or accent display bases for ceramics. Placing them in neutral spaces creates contrast against contemporary upholstery and minimalistic architecture.

Dust the detailed relief carvings regularly using a soft brush to prevent buildup. Clean the marble surface with pH-neutral stone cleaner and keep the item away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage or joint movement.
