Beautiful Antique Tabriz Carpet

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a really beautiful antique Tarbriz carpet with a lovely design and very attractive colour palette dating from around 1930. This has a sharp, defined pattern as the weave is fine with a high knot count.

The room size carpet has a delightful colour combination with a soft pale coral field and an allover design of meandering vines and palmettes enclosed by ivory borders of scrolling vines, flanked by guard stripes. There is one very small area of wear to one edge (about 8 cm, see last photo) but overall this is in excellent condition with a good even pile and is clean and ready for use.

The carpet is a good room size measuring 327cm by 219cm.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
