Attractive Antique Bakhtiari Carpet Rug West Persia

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a beautiful Bakhtiari carpet from West Persia. The very intricate design has an ivory stepped lozenge field centred by a diamond anchor medallion all framed by pretty polychrome flowerhead spandrels and brick red floral borders with barber pole decoration. The carpet dates from around 1910 and is in very good order, save for some slight wear to the selvedge at one end. Cleaned and ready for use it measures 211cms by 145 cms.
