Antique Isfahan Carpet

Description

This is an exceptionally fine antique Ishfahan prayer carpet dating from the late 19th Century. The carpet has a well drawn design with a very pretty central scalloped lozenge set in a warm ivory flower filled field all beneath an ornate mihrab above and warm red deep borders around. This is a very finely woven carpet with great detail and an appealing colour palette. The carpet is in good overall condition for its age and has some areas of light wear and a low even pile. It measures 233 cms by 138 cms.
