An antique Victorian octagonal library table in oak, labelled for James Shoolbred & Co, Tottenham House, London, circa 1880. Well proportioned and richly detailed, the table features an inset green leather writing surface within a shaped octagonal top, framed by carved oak moulding and a decorative gadrooned edge. The apron is fitted with drawers, each fronted with carved floral detail and brass pulls, giving the piece useful storage as well as strong decorative presence.
