Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian scent bottles from the early twentieth century often feature silver caps or collars paired with coloured or cut glass bodies. Designs frequently incorporated motifs such as scrolls or foliate engraving, produced for dressing tables and personal vanity sets.

Cranberry glass is created by adding gold salts or colloidal gold to molten glass mixture. This craft method produces a red hue ranging from soft pink to deep ruby, which requires controlled heating cycles to achieve uniform colour distribution.

Authentic British pieces from this era carry official silver hallmarks including a makers mark, town mark, lion passant for sterling purity, and a date letter. The glass should show hand-cut facets or hand-blown characteristics, including wear consistent with age around the base and stopper join.

Smaller scent bottles can be styled on a brass vanity tray, arranged inside a glass display cabinet, or positioned on a bedroom nightstand alongside books to add colour and texture to a room scheme.

Clean the silver cap gently using a soft silver polishing cloth, avoiding liquids that might penetrate the stopper seal. Wipe the external glass with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth without submerging the piece in water, as moisture can weaken internal mounts or damage residual contents.
