Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An Edwardian tallboy chest is a vertical storage piece produced roughly between 1901 and 1910, typically crafted from mahogany or walnut, combining multiple drawers with a cupboard or additional drawer section below.

Edwardian cabinetmakers commonly utilised mahogany, walnut, and oak, often pairing solid timber frames with rich veneers, dovetail drawer joints, and solid brass drop handles or swan-neck pulls.

Authentic Edwardian pieces feature hand-cut or early machine-cut dovetail joints, original brass hardware with natural oxidisation, solid wood drawer linings, and structural proportions typical of the early 20th century.

Place the chest against a neutral or rich wall colour to accentuate the wood grain, pairing it with modern lighting or contemporary artwork above to create a balanced contrast between old and new.

Dust regularly with a soft lint-free cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight to protect the finish.
