School House Antiques has dated this Regency Burr Walnut Centre Table to the 19th Century.
The frieze conceals two ingenious pull-out secret drawers, virtually invisible when closed, providing the perfect place to discreetly store valuables.
The table is supported by a bold, corkscrew-turned central pedestal, terminating in a distinctive sculptural base. Each leg is finely carved in the form of a mythical hooved foot, an exceptionally rare and characterful feature that distinguishes this table from more conventional Regency examples.
Generously proportioned, it is equally suited for use as a centre table, breakfast table, or small dining table. Combining a beautifully figured burr walnut top, superb craftsmanship, intricate carving, and cleverly concealed storage, it is both practical and visually impressive.
