Description

This is a profusely inlaid Levantine compendium games table that dates from Circa 1880, and has multiple geometric and asymmetric inlays of various specimen woods.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a similarly inlaid interior and a fold-over reversible top with emerald green baize on one side and a chessboard on the other. This can be folded over the side to reveal the stunning inset backgammon table below. Two secret compartments slide out during gameplay, useful to store cards and chips. etc.

The whole top swivels to reveal a space that can be used to store cards and game pieces.  The table is raised on four shaped legs and is a very pretty decorative piece.

 

The table is exquisitely crafted in hardwood and features wonderful inlaid decoration comprising ebony, bone, walnut and various fruitwoods.

 

Condition:

In excellent condition, having only been beautifully cleaned and waxed in our workshops - please see photos for confirmation.
