The circular top with a lift out chess board to allow for the storage of Chess and Draughts pieces. In very good and original condition and with a lovely colour. 740mm high and 410mm diameter. Produced roughly between 1830 and 1837, William IV games tables bridge the transition from delicate Regency proportions to heavier Victorian forms. Key features include substantial turned or octagonal pedestals, bold triform bases, scroll feet, and rich flame mahogany or rosewood veneers.

These tables typically feature solid mahogany or oak framing faced with flame mahogany veneer. The playing surface is created using inlaid squares of contrasting timbers such as boxwood, ebony, or rosewood, constructed over traditional mortise-and-tenon joints.
