Treasure Trove Worcester Ltd has dated this Louis Xvi Marble Commode to the 1930s.
Beautifully veneered in mahogany and tulipwood, the piece features fine satinwood and boxwood stringing throughout, complemented by a rouge marble top with rounded front corners.

The commode is fitted with three oak-lined graduated drawers, each with finely cast gilt bronze ring handles and decorative escutcheons. The canted corners are mounted with gilt bronze ornaments, while the shaped apron is centred by an attractive gilt bronze foliate mount. Raised on elegant tapering legs terminating in gilt bronze sabots, the commode displays pleasing proportions and fine craftsmanship throughout.

Compact in size, it is ideally suited as a bedside chest, hall commode or occasional cabinet, while the richly figured veneers and rouge marble top provide a refined decorative appearance.

Good condition. A few little marks in align with age but presents very well. The commode retains its working key, with an attractive colour and patina.
