Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver plated tableware, produced between 1901 and 1910, is known for its refined elegance, light proportions, and delicate ornamentation compared to heavier Victorian predecessors. Pieces frequently feature delicate pierced fretwork, Neo-Classical swags, and fine beaded rims crafted by prominent British silversmiths.

These baskets were typically crafted from electroplated nickel silver, where a thin layer of pure silver was electrochemically deposited over a base metal alloy. The pierced lattice patterns were created through precision stamping or hand-piercing before the electroplating process was applied.

Authentic Edwardian silver plate can be identified by makers marks, electroplate hallmarks such as EPNS or EPBM, and period-specific motifs like pierced borders or beaded rims. Maker marks from established British firms further confirm origins from this era.

An antique silver bread basket serves as a refined centrepiece on a dining table, kitchen island, or sideboard top. It functions for serving baked goods or decoratively to display fruit, decorative spheres, or linen napkins.

Clean silver plate gently using a soft cloth and specialised silver polish to prevent removing the thin layer of silver plating. Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners or dishwashers, and store items in dry environments to minimise oxidisation.
