A very good 17th-century oak coffer from the Gloucestershire/Somerset region of England. In excellent condition, retaining all original boarding and standing well up on its feet. The coffer is initialed E H and dated 1685 on the bottom rail.

The coffer has been in a private collection for 40 years and has a lovely dry, burnished surface.
