Brief Description:

This is a fabulous, huge, 19th-century Oil on Canvas Painting depicting Napoleon standing on board the Bellerophon with his men.

Painted circa 1900, after the original work, which was painted in 1880 by Sir William Quiller Orchardson (1832-1910).

The original work now resides in the Tate Gallery, London.

Sold as requiring TLC, due to the small canvas splits in the upper right of the painting - see images.

It is a beautiful painting that displays well in its current, as found condition.

Mounted within the original gilt frame.

Signed in the lower right corner: N. Giles.
