Description

A handsome Georgian mahogany birdcage tripod table dating from the third quarter of the 18th century. The circular tilt-top is raised on a well-turned column incorporating a decorative spiral-carved knop, terminating in an elegant tripod base with finely shaped cabriole legs and pad feet.

The table retains its original birdcage action, allowing the top to rotate and tilt for storage when not in use. The rich mahogany displays excellent colour and patina acquired over more than two centuries, with attractive figuring throughout the top and base.

A classic and highly practical Georgian occasional table, equally suited as a lamp table, wine table or side table.
