Salisbury Antiques Centre has dated this George II Tripod Table to the 1750s.
The top is supported by a particularly attractive turned pedestal featuring a bold spiral twist (barley twist) carved column, an unusual and highly decorative feature that adds considerable visual interest.

The pedestal terminates in a graceful tripod base with elegant cabriole legs ending in pad feet, all beautifully proportioned in the classic George II manner.
A refined and highly usable antique, ideal as a lamp table, wine table, occasional table or beside a reading chair, equally at home in a traditional country house or a more contemporary interior where quality period furniture is appreciated.
