Description

If you are looking for a classic Persian carpet to enhance your interior, this Tabriz carpet is an excellent option. Haji Jalili was one of the foremost carpet weavers in Tabriz during the 'Renaissance' period of Persian carpet weaving between 1880 and 1920. His carpets were consistently high quality with subtle colours and classic designs. This carpet fits the bill. The design is composed of a classic pale blue medallion with lovely pale blue corners on an abrashed terracotta field. Surrounding the medallion are myriad flowers and animals in the classic Safavid style. The main borders are composed of cartouches with calligraphic script on a subtle tangerine background. The entire composition is highly decorative and would enhance many formal settings, both period and modern. Cherished through the generations, it has survived in very good condition with only minimal signs of wear. It has been cleaned in my own workshop and is ready for immediate use. Finely knotted with a velvety low clipped pile, it is a delightful carpet.
