Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Campaign chests were designed specifically for British military officers to transport personal effects and equipment while deployed abroad. Their modular, two-part construction allowed for easier transport by horse, mule, or sea vessel.

Campaign furniture typically utilised robust hardwoods with flush brass corner brackets and flush drawer handles to prevent snagging during transport. The chests were built in two stackable sections and featured carrying handles on the sides.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, flush-mounted brass fittings set into chiselled recesses, and original screw alignments. They also feature a two-part split carcass and iron or brass carrying handles on the sides.

A campaign chest functions well as a focal storage unit in a living space, study, or hallway. The combination of rich timber figure and metallic hardware complements both traditional and modern minimal interiors.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year following the grain. Avoid chemical brass cleaners near the timber, as they can cause discolouration to the surrounding veneer.
